GPPi's Andreas Goldthau wins fellowship to carry out research project at Harvard

GPPi Fellow Andreas Goldthau has won a prestigious Marie-Curie International Outgoing Fellowship to carry out a two year research project on energy innovation, with a focus on shale gas technology.

Goldthau is also head of the Department of Public Policy at Central European University in Budapest.

The project will be carried out at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard's Kennedy School. It investigates the role that regulatory regimes play in energy technology transfer and in making it a success or preventing it from happening. The focus will be placed on a recent technological breakthrough in energy technology originating in the United States, with potentially significant repercussions for Europe: shale gas.

Marie-Curie International Outgoing Fellowships support experienced researchers to conduct high level research in third countries. They aim at promoting the excellence of the European research area.
