GPPi Fellow participates at the 3rd Energy FORUM
GPPi Fellow Andreas Goldthau presented at the Energy Constellation Institute, Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies, Budapest, from 27-29 October 2008. The event under the heading “3rd Energy FORUM” saw Goldthau on the panel discussion entitled “EU and Russia: Bilateral Relations in the Energy Context”.
Goldthau discussed the presentations and findings given by Edward C. Chow, Center for Strategic and International Studies; John O’Sullivan, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; and Roman Kupchinsky, Azeastlink Consultants. Goldthau pointed out that the crucial elements in the future of Eurasian energy relations include markets, market structures and market players. During the event, Goldthau also challenged some of the prevalent preoccupations regarding large scale infrastructure projects such as the planned Nabucco pipeline that will transport natural gas from Turkey to Austria, through Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary.
